Prebiotics are undigested food components that constitute medium for probiotics. They selectively stimulate the growth or activity of specific bacteria, that way inhibiting the activity of harmful microflora. They include: fructooligosaccharides, inulin, lactulose, or galactose derivatives. It has been proven that a combination of pre- and probiotics helps, for example, to reduce the levels of harmful metabolites in the organism, support digestive processes, regulate metabolism, as well as alleviate diarrhoea and constipations of various origins.
